| Air Source Heat Pumps |
You can only buy Ecodan through an Approved Ecodan Installer (AEI). This helps to ensure that your system is optimised to suit your individual property and consistently delivers the highest standards of performance.
Whether you live in a small flat, or a large detached house, Ecodan can help to reduce running costs, lower CO 2 emissions and offers reliable, sustainable heating and hot water all year round. |
Air source heat pumps can also offer significantly higher levels of efficiency when compared to traditional methods of heating our homes.
How does it work?
The Ecodan air source heat pump system consists of an external box which is fitted to your outside wall. It harvests renewable, low grade energy from the outdoor air and upgrades this into useful heat to supply a home with hot water and heating.
For every 1kW of electricity fed into Ecodan, you will get at least 3kW of heating energy. |
Proven high efficiency
Ecodan uses proven heat pump technology, refined in the commercial heating sector, to harvest free, renewable energy from the outdoor air.
With decades of experience, Ecodan from Mitsubishi Electric will provide reliable, sustainable heating and hot water.
Mitsubishi Electric has also designed Ecodan to be much quieter than many other heat pumps.

Is an Air Source Heat Pump suitable for your home?

Ecodan heat pumps are ideal for use in a variety of house sizes or styles and it's carefully developed control system is designed to work perfectly to provide hot water to either traditional radiators or under floor heating systems.
The Ecodan will vary the flow temperature in the room automatically, based on the ambient temperature to keep the house warm.
Operating at these lower flow temperatures significantly improve efficiency (in comparison to older heating systems).
And more good news...
Ecodan offers hope for hard-pressed households everywhere, with a system to suit almost any property, providing they are well insulated; whether it is a small flat or a large detached house. Older properties that have been thermally upgraded can also benefit from this low carbon alternative to traditional domestic hot water systems.
